Tom Reitz, His wife Tracey, and their dog, Princess, reside in Edgewater, MD. After briefly retiring from the advertising/marketing services arena, and almost going nuts from boredom, Tom happened to meet Greg Lonergan, the owner of Lonergan’s Charter Service. Greg was subbing for one of his drivers and driving a school bus through Tom’s neighborhood. One thing led to another, and Tom started to drive for Greg in July of 2007.
While driving Tom realized that the school bus driving community was unique to itself, but unappreciated by the public at large. He observed both the mandated rules, and the Rulz of the road credo that the drivers practiced daily. This inspired him to create a clothing line imbued with the humor ingrained in these practices. Tracey has now joined Tom in driving for Lonergans. |

About School Bus Rulz
Our mission and message to you.
Glad you stopped by. Turn off the Stop lights, step down from your bus, and stroll through the only site on the internet dedicated to celebrating your chosen profession. Each of you is a talented driver in your own right, but collectively you are also part of a fraternity of unsung heroes who take immense pride in the safe and caring transportation of our nation’s greatest treasure, our children. Have you ever questioned yourself as to the why you drive? Is it:
The Money…………………….Please! It’s fair but retirement isn’t included…
The Hours……………………….Up at 4:30, sports trips until 10PM, split shifts…
The Creature Comforts…..Freezing in the winter, like a sauna in the summer…
Public Recognition…………..”Move that bus you’re in my way” yell the car drivers daily…
For me it’s always been about the kids, be they 5, 12, or 18. Being around them keeps a smile on my face and bounce in my step. Sometimes their comments and antics boggle the imagination. Sure there are times when I have to walk away at day’s end shaking my head, but I always look forward to the next day wondering what’s in store, and who’s going to try to "Make my day".
Continued from Home Page...
My other motivation comes from the camaraderie I share with fellow drivers. We tell our bus driving adventure stories, make each other laugh, complain about the weather, and take pleasure in one another’s company while waiting at our stops. Because I recognize your contributions, and because of my belief that we under appreciated by the public at large, I felt a calling to develop a clothing line especially designed for drivers, and a website to both market the clothing, and to promote public awareness. Please read the RULZ , select your favorite shirts, and wear them proudly. Someday, everyone will appreciate your contributions, as you rightfully stand beside the fireman and the policeman as a fellow hero.
